Love knitting and want to practise your English? At "Knit & Chat" you can do both! Bring your knitting project, enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, and chat in English with fellow knitters. All English-levels are welcome – from learners to native speakers. Guided by an English trainer (and passionate knitter), this group is all about yarn, conversation, and good company. Please bring your own knitting materials and projects.

Wir laden Sie ein zu einem Gesprächsabend mit dem Keramikkünstler Philip Hardaker aus Stoke-on-Trent. Er gibt spannende Einblicke in die Geschichte und Gegenwart der Potteries und zeigt, wie das keramische Erbe der Region bis heute weiterlebt. Anhand seiner Arbeiten und Erfahrungen berichtet er über die Bedeutung des Porzellanhandwerks für die Stadt und ihre Menschen. Der Referent wird digital zugeschaltet sein. Come along and join our discussion group at vhs club INTERNATIONAL! A short introductory presentation will offer insight into select issues and current topics in US society and culture. The following discussion will offer a great and fun way to practice your English language skills on an advanced level and to learn about different perspectives. Everyone is welcome. You don’t have to be an expert on the US, just bring an open mind and plenty of questions! After about two years in office, US  Presidents face the midterm elections, which are often viewed as a referendum on the governing President’s and party’s  performance. Affecting both the House of Representatives and the Senate, the ‘midterms’ have often resulted in a significant shift of power for the incumbent. Together we will look at the midterms in historical perspective and discuss the polls and predictions for the upcoming elections on November 3rd.
