For  English-speaking (new) inhabitants and interested English learners (Level B1/B2). Who were the Huguenots, and where did they come from? What role did the French Reformation and Jean Calvin play in their story? This talk will explore the fascinating history of the Huguenots – French Protestants who fled religious persecution and found new homes across Europe. You will learn why Erlangen is known as the “Huguenot City,” what these newcomers contributed to its development, and how their legacy can still be seen today. The presentation will also take you on a short journey through other Huguenot towns in Franconia and reveal what makes them special.
