Für Teilnehmer*innen, die vor einiger Zeit Englisch gelernt haben (circa 2 bis 3 Jahre) und vor allem das freie Sprechen über interessante Themen und in wichtigen Alltagssituationen üben wollen.

Thinking of taking your English B2 knowledge to the higher level of C1 - then this course is what you are looking for. Targets: Enhancing your spoken language to be clear and concise, written English will also include basic business tasks (reports, minutes etc.). Understanding authentic reading texts/newspapers/reports. Boosting your listening skills. Building a wide range of vocabulary and more complex collocations. Applying sophisticated language structures in verbal and written communication. Getting down to the nitty-gritty of some grammar. C1 level is a whole new ball game and great fun. Book/material: will be discussed on the first evening.

Kleingruppe 8 bis 12 Teilnehmer*innen This conversation course is designed for advanced learners at B2/C1 level who would like to enhance their oral skills and feel more at home when speaking English. Discussions/debates on current / interesting topics, a variety of speaking activities and vocabulary acquisition will improve your fluency and accuracy while building confidence in speaking spontaneously. The focus is on effective communication in a relaxed and motivating atmosphere.

Kleingruppe 5 bis 8 Teilnehmer*innen This grammar workshop for learners at B1/B2 level focuses on refreshing, expanding, and actively applying your knowledge of English grammar. Key topics include all tenses (especially the confusing ones), conditional sentences, passive voice, reported speech, collocations and phrasal verbs as well as typical difficulties such as prepositions and word order. The course combines plenty of practical (fun) exercises ensuring that grammar is clearer and can be used with more confidence when speaking and writing. Participants are also welcome to mail in their own topics up to one week before the course to vhs.sprachen@stadt.erlangen.de and will be included in the workshop time allowing.
