Während des Studiums der Germanistik bin ich, geboren in Nordirland, das erste Mal nach Erlangen gekommen, wo ich dann nach Abschluss des Studiums zurückgekehrt bin. Seit 1975 unterrichtete ich dann an verschiedenen staatlichen und privaten Schulen, zuletzt am Institut für Fremdsprachen und Auslandskunde, wo ich mit 50 Jahren die staatliche Prüfung für Übersetzer abgelegt habe. Ich unterrichte meine Muttersprache auch jetzt nach dem Ruhestand leidenschaftlich gern. Neuerdings halte ich englische Literaturkurse, was ich auch sehr gerne tue. Ansonsten gehe ich gerne ins Theater und Kino, und bin selber Laienschauspielerin.
Niveaustufe C1
Die folgenden Kurse setzen sehr gute Kenntnisse in der Sprache voraus, die etwa 5 bis 6-jährigem Schulunterricht und mehr in Englisch entsprechen. Die bisher erworbenen Fertigkeiten im Hör- und Leseverstehen und besonders im mündlichen Ausdruck werden weiter ausgebaut, grammatische Strukturen wiederholt und geübt.
Join us for fifteen 90-minute sessions around the English-speaking world with topical texts for features, language tips and exercises that give you the chance to improve fluency, reading, listening and active vocabulary.
This course is for those who have already attained a high level of English but wish to improve their oral skills even more. We will read and discuss interesting newspaper articles, texts and literary excerpts, and also work on formal and informal vocabulary, idiomatic language and intercultural aspects. Newcomers are very welcome. Course materials will be provided.
