Come along and join our discussion group at vhs club INTERNATIONAL! A short introductory presentation will offer insight into select issues and current topics in US society and culture. The following discussion will offer a great and fun way to practice your English language skills and to learn about different perspectives. Everyone is welcome. You don’t have to be an expert on the US, just bring an open mind and plenty of questions! Structural racism continues to impact almost every aspect of US society and culture. It stands at the center of much recent activism (#OscarsSoWhite, Black Lives Matter, etc.), and it constitutes a contested issue in political debates, for example, with regard to reparations, affirmative action, or school curricula. We will discuss the various dimensions and effects of structural racism as well as the significance of Critical Race Theory in contemporary discourses. In Kooperation mit dem DAI Nürnberg
